Here about a year and a half ago we featured The Coin on our website. We were one of the first backers of the project and FINALLY got our Coin yesterday. Now that we have used it for the last day here is our feedback on The Coin and why we think The Plastc Card is a much better option. First off, The Coin has only worked at 2 locations out of the 8 locations that we used the card. The reason for this major flaw is that The Coin only stores your card number and expiration date in the strip on the back. Alot of the credit card readers out there require your name as well. So it defeats the purpose of putting all your cards on one card if you still have to pack around all the other cards in case The Coin doesn’t work. In contrast the Plastc Card will store all information on the card including your full name as it is on your credit card. Here are some other features that make The Plastc Card a much better option over The Coin.
- The Plastc Card will store 20 cards compared to the 8 that The Coin will store.
- The Plastc Card features a rechargeable battery. Once the battery is dead on The Coin it is garbage and you have to purchase a new one.
- The Plastc Card comes embedded with a chip that can be activated by an update. This is a huge benefit over The Coin because the nationwide shift to EMV is already underway. The Coin has no chip.
- The Plastc Card has a security feature that requires you to put in a four digit pin to use the card.
We are still waiting to receive our Plastc Card and will update our review as soon as we receive it. If Plastc Card can deliver on the features that they are presenting we have no idea why anyone would even waste their time or money on The Coin. For your viewing pleasure we have included a video to show how the Plastc Card works. If you are interested in Pre-Ordering your own Plastc Card and saving $20.00 bones click the link below.
